Evangel University to host music auditions on Friday, Nov. 8

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — Evangel University’s Departments of Music and Undergraduate Admissions will host prospective music students and their families for a specialized visit, or “Music Day,” on Friday, Nov. 8.

This Music Day Visit is open only to high school seniors and transfer students entering Evangel for the spring or fall 2014 semesters.

“We are excited to host these very talented young people on our campus. It is always a highlight to see them involved in our department for the day,” said Dr. Michael Kolstad, music department chair.

The schedule for this event is as follows:

  • 8:30 a.m.— Welcome
  • 8:45 a.m.— Campus tour
  • 10 a.m.— Chapel service
  • 11 a.m.— Classroom visit/parent panel
  • 12 noon— Lunch
  • 1 p.m.— Department visit
  • 2 to 4 p.m.— Music auditions
  • 3 p.m.— Closing

Auditions will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. for prospective students who are interested in gaining entrance to Evangel’s music programs and receiving scholarships.

Additional EU Visit days are scheduled for the remainder of the fall 2013 semester for anyone wishing to attend Evangel. These dates will not include music auditions:

  • November 15, 2013
  • November 22, 2013
  • December 6, 2013
