SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – Desiree Bonitz, music performance major, will perform her junior piano recital on Friday, Feb. 21, at 7:30 p.m. in the Barnett Recital Hall.

The public is invited to attend, and there is no cost for admission.

Program

Sonata in F minor, No. 23 Op. 57 “Appassionata,” by Ludwig Van Beethoven

I. Allegro Assai

Jardins sous la pluie, by Claude Debussy

Allegro Barbaro, by Béla Bartók

Intermission

Ballade in G minor, by Frédéric Chopin

Prelude in G, Op. 32 No. 5, by Sergei Rachmaninoff

“My grandmother started teaching me piano at three years of age. Since then, I have always loved taking on the challenge of a new piece and sharing that finished product with an audience,” Bonitz said. “God has blessed me with the gift of music and I want to use it to bless others.”

Bonitz plans to pursue a master’s degree in piano and teach at a university or college after she graduates from Evangel University.

Bonitz is the daughter of Thomas and Jarusha Bonitz of Red Lion, Pa.
