Behold—God’s New Thing Is Springing Forth

By Dr. Darla Rakes

“Behold, I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it?” (Isaiah 43:19)

This promise stirs our spirits and lifts our eyes in worshipful expectation. For our Evangel University family—alumni, donors, and friends—this word is alive among us. Over the last four years, we have witnessed God’s new thing unfolding on our campus through remarkable growth and renewal.

Because of your prayers and generous support, the vision has become reality: a vibrant new sports complex now welcomes athletes and fans, and the construction of a new residence hall rises as a beacon of community and hope. These aren’t just buildings; they are sacred spaces where students encounter God, form lifelong friendships, and prepare to impact the world for Christ.

Each brick and beam testifies to your faithfulness and to God’s unending provision. Together, we are watching rivers flow through what was once a desert—fresh life, new opportunities, and a renewed sense of calling for every student. As we look ahead, we believe God is not finished. There are still stories to be written, students to be reached, and dreams to be built. Thank you for perceiving what God is doing and for joining us in this journey of faith.
