Seventy years ago, Evangel University was established as a place where students, guided by a faculty grounded in a biblical worldview received stellar vocational training needed to fulfill their calling. From then until now, our mission has remained steadfast equipping sincere learners for their God-given purpose. At Evangel, we believe everyone is called to ministry—whether as CPAs, nurses, educators, counselors, or leaders in any sector of society—and to be bright lights for the Lord. Our alumni have excelled in medical school, leadership in business, service in education, and countless other vocations that transform communities around the globe.
Like many of our other program offerings our church ministry programs are also experiencing growing enrollment, preparing women and men to serve as missionaries, pastors, worship leaders, and next-generation ministers, driven by an unwavering commitment to the Great Commission. EU now serves an even broader spectrum of students, old and young from more than 40 countries and all 50 states. That is who we are, and that is who we will continue to be.
This year, we celebrate 70 years of unwavering commitment to a mission that remains as relevant today as it was seven decades ago. While the fight for the soul of this generation has become more intense and is often amplified by liberal mainstream institutions using taxpayer dollars to promote the idea that there is no God, Evangel is gaining momentum. Our record enrollment reflects a growing number of students who are drawn to the transformative education and Christ-centered purpose that define our university.
Evangel is a place where identities are anchored in the God that created them, and supported by faculty, coaches and a staff who are determined to connect them to the power source of God’s Spirit to live out their call in every season of their life. Evangel does more than educate—we prepare students for life in every way that matters, empowering them to carry hope and compassion into every sector of society.
