What is your favorite memory from your time as a student?
Friday Night Campus Missions Fellowship at C.B.C. One night, as soundman for the chapel, we experienced a electrical issue with one side light upon which a banner highlighting Africa was hung. We tired frantically before the service to fix the light but could not. During the service, the Lord spoke to a student saying, “The Light has gone out in Africa!” The student dedicated his life to missions in Africa during that service. After the service, the light bulb came back on and worked perfectly.
How did your school help you identify/develop your calling?
Rev Al Reed, who was on the Board of both Evangel and Central Bible College, helped me choose C.B.C. as a place for me to prepare for the ministry to which God had called me. That turned out to be God’s direction in my life.
How did your experience as a student prepare you for life after graduation?
Instructors like Donald Johns, John Katter, Opal Reddin, Benny Aker, Charles Harris, Gerard Flokstra, and Charles Harris gave me the passion to preach and teach the Word of God.
What advice would you give a current student preparing for the workforce?
Trust in the Lord with all your heart. Do not lean to your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will direct your path. (Proverbs 3:5-6)
What would you look for if you were in a position to hire new graduates from Evangel?
A Servant’s Heart
