Kristen Kansiewicz, Ph.D.

Kristen Kansiewicz, Ph.D., LPC, received her PhD in Counselor Education from Regent University and is an Assistant Professor at Evangel University. Dr. Kansiewicz has developed the Church Therapy model, bringing clinical mental health services into church settings. She has provided clinical counseling services in church settings since 2005. Her primary research interests include pastors’ mental health, stigma around mental illness in the church, barriers to treatment amongst evangelical Christians, and development of Christian-specific therapeutic interventions. 

Dr. Kansiewicz enjoys helping students with developing research ideas as well as research design and statistical analysis. She wants students to be excited about the process of research and can help reduce anxiety about dissertation completion.  She is passionate about developing mental health resources for the church.
