2nd Annual Alumni Orchestra Concert at Evangel University, Oct. 27

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – The Evangel University Alumni Orchestra will present its second annual concert on Sunday, Oct. 27, at 2:30 p.m. in the Robert H. Spence Chapel Auditorium. They will perform a varied program of both classical and sacred selections.

Admission is free and open to the public. The Spence Chapel is located south of the main entrance to campus, at 1111 N. Glenstone Ave.

The Alumni Orchestra is composed of Evangel graduates from the past 40+ years and is under the direction of Dr. Larry Dissmore, professor of music, and Mr. John Shows, professor emeritus and former chair of the department.

“Our alumni love to play their instruments and they love to play together,” said Dissmore director of orchestral activities at Evangel.

“Based on last year’s experience, I expect the concert to be of very high quality and enjoyable for both participants and audience.”

For portions of the concert, the alumni will be joined by students from the Evangel University Orchestra and Sinfonia.

Music at Evangel

The Department of Music at Evangel University offers majors in music, music education, music performance, recording technology and worship leadership. The department is accredited by the National Association of Schools of Music and the Missouri Association of Departments & Schools of Music.
