Concert Choir takes northern tour during fall break

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – The Evangel University Concert Choir will be on a northern U.S. tour during the school’s fall break, Oct. 19-22. The group will perform six concerts in Wisconsin, Minnesota, South Dakota and Iowa.

The 42-member choir is under the direction of Sharon Wilkins, associate professor of music. This is her 31st fall tour with Evangel students.

During the past 30 years, the concert choir has toured in the 48 contiguous states, Canada, the Bahamas and 15 countries in Europe. The concert choir has also been honored to give solo performances at Carnegie Hall in 1992, 1996, 2000 and 2008, and it has performed for President George W. Bush and Vice President Dick Cheney.
