SPRINGFIELD, Mo. –– By request of Silver Dollar City, in Branson, Mo., more than 100 students involved with both the Evangel University Chorale and the Marching Band will perform at two different venues at the park on Saturday, Nov. 2.
The marching band will perform in the park’s “The Gift of Christmas Holiday Lights Parade” at 7:15 p.m., and the chorale will sing at the Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony at 5:30 p.m.
Both performances are included in the price of a general admission Silver Dollar City ticket, which are available to purchase through select businesses, at Silver Dollar City and online at silverdollarcity.com.
The Evangel University Chorale
“The Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony will be well attended by the community. It will give us great exposure for the university and will provide a great opportunity for students,” said Tom Matrone, director of the chorale.
This is the first year the chorale has been asked to sing at the lighting ceremony.
The Evangel University Marching Band
In addition to the chorale’s performance at the Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony, the marching band also will be a part of the Christmas parade during the day.
“This is a wonderful event for students to participate in, as it allows Evangel to perform in front of 20,000 people,” said Dr. Michael Kolstad, marching band director.
This will be the third year the marching band has performed in the parade.
