Evangel University to hold third annual Young Alumni Mixer for 2013 Homecoming, Oct. 3-6

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — Evangel University will host the third annual Young Alumni Mixer as part of Homecoming 2013.

The mixer, geared toward graduates from the past 10 years, will take place on campus at 7:45 p.m., on Thursday, Oct. 3, in the Heritage Room of the Riggs administration building.

“The Young Alumni Mixer is an annual opportunity for Evangel alumni who have graduated within the last 10 years to connect and feel just as much a part of the university as they did when they were students,” said Dane Mohrmann, assistant director of alumni relations.

The highlight of the event features a Pro-Connect station for young alums to network with one another and connect with successful graduates in various career fields. Additional highlights will include an ice-cream bar, karaoke, a Wii dance competition and free giveaways.

In the past, the mixer has catered to Evangel alums who graduated within the last five years. This year, the event has been opened up to include alumni from the classes of 2003-2013.

“This opens the event up to a much larger group, and also gives us a natural flow into the reunion dinners, which start with the 10-year group,” Mohrmann explained.

“I really believe this event will be a fantastic turning point for the program and will set us up for future success in connecting this age group back to their alma mater,” Mohrmann said.
