Production and performers

“Into the Woods” follows several well-known fairytale characters, including Cinderella, Little Red Riding Hood, and Rapunzel, as they journey through a mystical forest to obtain their greatest wishes. However, danger lurks within the woods, and the characters must band together to save each other and their kingdom.

“On its face, ‘Into the Woods’ appears to be a cute children’s show full of laughter as we watch our favorite Brothers Grimm characters come to life, but in fact, the musical deals with serious life lessons and challenges we all face,” said Dr. Vickie Wisdom, professor of theatre at Evangel.

The cast features Evangel students, alumni, and faculty:

  • Cinderella – Olivia Ingamells, sophomore
  • Jack – Chandler Gray, senior
  • Jack’s Mother – London Redstone, sophomore
  • Baker – Jonathan Falconer, senior
  • Baker’s Wife – Mikayla Baker, sophomore
  • Cinderella’s Stepmother – Aubre Stagner, senior

  • Rapunzel’s Prince – Ben Paris, junior
  • Granny – Emme Stinson, sophomore
  • Giant – Lori Lawley, faculty and alum (EU ’85)

“We chose to do this show to honor the life and work of the recently deceased Stephen Sondheim, whose brilliant music and lyrics will forever present a worthy challenge for the instrumentalist, vocalist, and actor,” said Wisdom.
