The Evangel University Excelsis Trio will perform in concert on Monday, March 19 at 7:30 p.m. in the Barnett Recital Hall. The concert is free and the public is invited to attend.
The Excelsis Trio is the faculty piano trio in residence at Evangel University. Members are Dr. Larry Dissmore, professor of music, on violin; Matthew Pierce, adjunct professor, on cello; and Dr. Gregory Morris, professor of music, on piano.
The Recital Hall is located in the Barnett Fine Arts Center, which is just south of Evangel’s Spence Chapel, facing North Glenstone Ave.

Faculty Performers
Dr. Larry Dissmore joined the Evangel music faculty in 1988 and has performed with the Excelsis Trio for more than 20 years.
He is the director of orchestral activities at Evangel, teaches violin and viola, and currently serves as the principal second violinist with the Springfield (Mo.) Symphony. Dissmore holds a D.M.A. in Orchestral Conducting from the Conservatory of Music at the University of Missouri–Kansas City.
Dr. Greg Morris is a 1984 graduate of Evangel, and has taught piano at the University since 1999. He holds a D.M.A. in Piano Performance from the University of North Texas, and also holds a black belt in Taekwondo.
Matthew Pierce is an adjunct faculty member at Evangel. He holds a master’s of music in cello performance from the University of Missouri in Columbia and considers himself a philosophy enthusiast.
The Department of Music at Evangel University offers majors in music education, music performance, recording technology and worship leadership. The department is accredited by the National Association of Schools of Music and the Missouri Association of Departments & Schools of Music.
