The Evangel University Music Department presents Linda Ligate and Jane Harris in a faculty two-piano recital on Jan. 29 at 7:30 p.m. in the Barnett Recital Hall.
The recital is free and open to the public. The Barnett Fine Arts Center is south of Robert H. Spence Chapel, facing Glenstone Ave.
Harris said she is “eager to share the lesser-known composition of British composer, Joan Trimble, a piano student of Ralph Vaughan Williams.”
While it was “a bit of a treasure hunt locating the printed copies of the music, Dr. Ligate was able to obtain them from the London Conservatory of Music,” said Harris.
“I believe the Sonatina’s appeal of creativity and emotion will bring joy to the listening audience,” she added.
Dr. Linda Ligate is a professor emeritus of music and Jane Harris is an adjunct professor.
