SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — First Friday Artwalk, taking place this Friday, Aug. 3, will include an exhibit at Evangel University’s Bellwether Gallery. Images will be displayed that were captured by Lane Simmons, photography instructor, and Trevor Mark Ekanger, 2010 EU graduate.
The show will feature families impacted by James River Assembly of God’s Cherish Kids adoption/foster care ministry.
The event will take place from 6 to 10 p.m., and there is no cost for admission.
Evangel University has partnered with Randy Bacon Photo Studio & Art Gallery, in the Monarch Art Factory, to showcase its student, faculty and alumni art projects. The gallery is on Main, just south of College.
“The exhibit is meant to bring awareness of the children in Missouri that need families,” Simmons said. “The Cherish Kids ministry exists to connect those kids with parents.”
At the event, information will be presented regarding an upcoming 5k run to benefit the cause. Representatives from James River will be in attendance with information on the 5k event and on the Cherish Kids ministry in general.
