The Evangel University Fine Art & Design Gallery is featuring a senior photo exhibition by Hannah Ayres, Nov. 3 – 30, 2017.

There will be an opening reception on Friday Nov. 3, from 6 – 8 pm.

“Hannah has a strong sense of design in her photography,” said Lane Simmons, instructor of photography at Evangel. “Her use of shape and texture show the influence of her graphic design training.”

Evangel’s gallery is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., and is located in the Lawrence & Alletha Barnett Fine Arts Center, just south of the Spence Chapel, facing Glenstone Ave.

The Evangel University Humanities Department offers three degrees in art — the Bachelor of Arts in Art, Bachelor of Fine Arts, and Bachelor of Arts in Art Education.

The B.A. in Art degree program is a well-rounded approach to artistic disciplines, combining a strong presence of art history and practical expertise in various studio areas. It is a 33-hour major and is often paired with another area of study in the humanities.

The B.F.A. allows artists to explore and refine their talents in the fine arts, including drawing, painting, sculpture, printmaking and ceramics. It requires 58 studio hours.

The B.A. in Art Education degree is for the creative art student seeking certification to teach in the K-12 grades. The degree program requires course work in both Art and Education, as well as a minor in a related field.
