Larry Dissmore to Present Faculty Violin Recital

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — Dr. Larry Dissmore will present a faculty violin recital on Monday, Jan. 23 at 7:30 p.m. in Evangel University’s Barnett Recital Hall.  Dissmore will be assisted by Evangel faculty pianists Dr. Linda Ligate and Dr. Gregory Morris.

The program is free and open to the public.

The program will include Tempo di Menuetto by Kreisler, the Sonata No. 3 in D Minor for Violin and Piano by Brahms,Sonata No. 3 (“Ballade”) for Violin Solo by Ysaye, the Diptych for Violin and Piano by Kraehenbuehl, and Rhapsody on Ebenezer by Ronald Matthews.

Dr. Larry Dissmore has served on the Evangel faculty since 1988. At Evangel he directs the orchestral program and teaches violin, viola, and conducting. Under his direction, the Evangel Concert Orchestra has toured extensively in the United States, Canada and Europe.

In addition to his work at Evangel, Dissmore also serves as the principal second violinist in the Springfield Symphony and for nine years was the music director of the Springfield Youth Symphony.
