SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – The Evangel University Marching Band will perform in Mount Vernon’s Apple Butter Makin’ Days parade on Saturday, Oct. 10, at 9 a.m.
This is the first time that the EU Marching Band has performed for this southwest Missouri festival.
“The more opportunities we have to play for the public, the better. It is our goal to represent Evangel and what the university has to offer,” said Matt Moore, director of bands.
The EU Marching Band was formed in 2011. In addition to playing pep music and performing field routines during halftime at home football games, the students perform at special events on campus and in area parades.
“Marching in parades helps expose to the community the fact that Evangel has a marching band — and a good one at that,” said Moore.
