Evangel University will hold its traditional back-to-school Spiritual Emphasis Week, Sept. 2-5, 2014.
Daily sessions will take place Tuesday through Friday mornings at 10 a.m. in the university’s Robert H. Spence Chapel auditorium. There will also be evening sessions Tuesday and Thursday at 7 p.m.
All are open to the general public.
The featured speaker for the week, Heath Adamson, will be speaking on the theme of Stewarding Moments in Our Lives. He is the national director of the youth division of the General Council of the Assemblies of God.
“We all have moments in life that impact us,” said Adamson. “Our week together will be a series on making the best of those moments.”
No stranger to Evangel, Adamson is a 2013 graduate of Evangel’s Master of Organizational Leadership program. It was during his time at Evangel that he started to develop his stewardship emphasis.
“Evangel teaches a perspective on leadership that I’ve not seen anywhere else,” he said. “In addition to being good stewards of our time and money, Evangel taught me that we are to be good stewards of relationships, of the talents of other people, even the dreams of others.”
Adamson spent thirteen years in youth ministry prior to his position at the Assemblies of God National Leadership and Resource Center.
“Evangel has students from across cultures, academic disciplines and church backgrounds,” said Dr. Greg Johns, campus pastor. “During Spiritual Emphasis Week, the Evangel community comes together and unites around our faith. It’s a time to prepare and gear up for the semester ahead.”
