Three department chairs named at Evangel University

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. —Three departmental chair appointments have been announced at Evangel University which become effective with the 2012-2013 academic year.

Theology Department—Dr. Brandon Schmidly, assistant professor of philosophy, joined the Evangel faculty in the fall of 2007. He has been appointed for his first term as a department chair. The first term served is traditionally a 1-year appointment.

Schmidly holds the following degrees:Ph.D. University of Missouri-Columbia; M.A. University of Missouri-Columbia; B.A. Evangel University.

The following have been re-appointed for 3-year terms:

Behavioral Sciences Department—Donna Washburn has been a member of the Evangel faculty since 2000.

Washburn, a licensed clinical social worker, is pursuing a Doctorate of Philosophy in counselor education and supervision from Regent University. She holds a bachelor’s degree in social work from Evangel University and a master’s degree in social work from Missouri State University.

Communication Department—Dr. Cameron Pace, professor of communication, joined the Evangel faculty in 1990.

Pace holds the following degrees: Ph.D. Regent University; M.A. Regent University; B.A. Evangel University.
