Tell us one achievement or accomplishment that stands out in your career!

Took on the Lead Pastor Role of Crossroads Church (Catherdral) in OKC. This church was once a nationally recognized church, leading the A/G in missions giving. When I took the assignment, it has just suffered another split and was 9 months away from closure (financially).

We have revitalized it and brought it back to health numerically, financially, and kingdom impact.

What is your favorite memory from your time as a student?

As A CBC graduate (undergrad), my favorite time was representing CBC through the ministry team, Floodgate. We traveled all over the country serving at District summer camps and ministering in local churches.

Evangel (MOL), This program was unique, being online only. However, my favorite memory was seeing my professors at GC and other events and getting a chance to speak with them in person.

How did your school help you identify/develop your calling?

CBC was instrumental in forming my calling as a young man. It gave me a rich understanding of the Bible and a grasp of our Pentecostal heritage

Evangel’s MOL helped me understand the nuance of organizational leadership. When I became the Lead Pastor of Crossroads, I was overwhelmed by the size and complexity of a church with a 200,000 sq. ft. facility. The MOL program helped me navigate the organizational side of ministry.

How did your experience as a student prepare you for life after graduation?

It primarily helped me through relationships that have lasted my entire life. The friendships I made with fellow students and faculty have remained with me no matter where I found myself serving.

What advice would you give a current student preparing for the workforce?

Be fully present. Often times I found myself wishing the program was over and hope I could get my degree and be done with the process. It’s the process that makes us better, not the degree. It’s the classes and conversations with faculty that sharpen us and make us better versions of ourselves. I would encourage students to be present and to fully enjoy every paper, late night study session, exam, and every relationship they forge on their journey toward a degree.

What would you look for if you were in a position to hire new graduates from Evangel?

Problem solving, critical thinking, passion, integrity
