Tell us about your career and what you do now?
I’ve so enjoyed my role as a pastor’s wife for 37 years and specifically serving in music/worship ministry in the three churches we’ve been honored to lead. I continue to serve on our creative team at The Assembly at Broken Arrow, leading worship in our traditional service and playing and/or singing wherever needed.
Tell us one achievement or accomplishment that stands out in your career!
I’m most grateful for the opportunity and honor to raise my three children who love and serve the Lord. The most rewarding part of music/worship ministry has been the amazing people of God, who’ve served on vocal teams and bands, in choirs and productions, coming together and faithfully offering their God-given gifts for His glory!
What is your favorite memory from CBC?
Meeting my best friend, Ron Woods, marrying him and building this life together! As a student, I highlycherish my three years, singing in Revivaltime Choir’s international broadcasts and tours….the friendships and fun, the life and leadership lessons, the spiritual formation. I loved daily chapel and Friday night Missions services…CMF. My heart for the unreached world, which began in my family and home church, was forged in that atmosphere of praying, giving, going and sending!
How did CBC help you identify/develop your calling?
CBC—and specifically, the Godly leadership, faculty and chapel experiences—were pivotal in helping me relax my grip on what I’d always thought my future in ministry might look like to embrace the ADVENTURE of following God’s plan for my life. Those years offered the examples, opportunities and perspectives I needed to fully walk in what God had in store. I’m forever grateful!
How did your experience at CBC prepare you for life after graduation?
Beginning with our beloved, outstanding President Maurice and Marcia Lednicky and continuing on throughout the faculty, there was simply a passionate love for God, unwavering confidence in the supremacy of His Word, the priceless gift of doing everyday campus life with some of the most powerful examples (to this day!) of FAITH and such a genuine love and belief in God’s call on our lives! We couldn’t have known the details of what lay ahead of us but we were prepared to step into it with eyes on JESUS and the power of His Spirit!
What advice would you give a current student preparing for the workforce?
Beginning tomorrow, set as your top non-negotiable to start early each day with 30 minutes of time, reading God’s Word and listening for all He’ll say to your heart. His voice above all others no matter your life’s direction.
