Amber Hainline, Ed.D.

hainlinea@evangel.edu

I have been in education since 1998. I originally wanted to be a nurse, but God quickly redirected my tender heart. I am a first-generation college graduate. I have a Bachelor of Science in English from Drury University (1998) (then Drury College), a Master’s Degree in English (British Literature and Composition Theory) from Missouri State University (2000) (then Southwest Missouri State), and a Doctorate in Instructional
Leadership (Curriculum and Instruction) from Lindenwood University (2022).

I have taught English in higher education, alternative schools, private K-12 schools, and public high schools. Before coming to Evangel, I served as a high school English teacher for 7 years, an Instructional Specialist at the secondary level for 7 years, and a Canvas LMS and Technology Administrator in a public school district for 7 years. I love my job as an Instructional Designer at Evangel! I am also currently the Canvas LMS Administrator. I fulfill my passion for teaching as an adjunct for the College of Online Learning where I teach undergraduate English courses.

I’m married to my high school sweetheart, Jason, an architect and avid cyclist. We have two beautiful daughters. Milana is an elementary teacher in Bentonville, Arkansas, and Mei Lin begins medical school at SLU in July. We have a grumpy rescue dog named Marley. I love to be outside walking, hiking, or simply sitting with a book in hand! I love Jesus, books, and coffee!
