Dr. Sergio Navarrete, D.Min.

Born in Tijuana, Mexico. Graduated from the Latin American Bible Institute of La Puente, CA; Fuller Theological Seminary, and Azusa Pacific University. He has 38 years of ministry experience as pastor, presbyter, professor, Academic Dean, District Superintendent, director of Hispanic Initiatives, and vice president of FRAHMAD, The Global Hispanic Fraternity of Assemblies of God.

He earned his Doctor of Ministry from Azusa Pacific University. Author of the book, “The Radical Discipleship of Jesus,” and has written other articles. In 2014 he was elected Treasurer of the Global Hispanic Fraternity of Assemblies of God, and now serves as its vice president. After serving for 20 years as the District Superintendent of the Southern Pacific District of the AG, he was hired by Evangel University and AGTS as the Director of Hispanic Initiatives.

Married for 39 years to his wife Janice, with two beautiful daughters Andrea and Aimee, and with four amazing grandchildren, Saraia, Enoch, Eliud, and Eliana.

He is an ordained minister of the Assemblies of God since 1985, and a member of several National Hispanic Leaders associations, such as: NHCLC, The National Hispanic Christian Leaders Conference; NALEC, The National Latino Evangelical Conference; AETH, The Hispanic Theological Evangelical Association.

 

Awards Received:

In 1983, Graduated as the Valedictorian Student of the Graduating class at LABI-College, La Puente, CA.

In 1988, received the George A. Gay Hispanic Scholarship at Fuller Theological Seminary given to outstanding Hispanic Students.

In 1999, was awarded Membership at the Academic Hall of Fame at the Azusa Theological Seminary given to outstanding Students.
