SPRINGFIELD, Missouri – Dr. Paul Lewis, associate dean of the Assemblies of God Theological Seminary at Evangel, has been named president of the Association of Professors of Mission (APM) for 2021-22. In this role, he will oversee the development of the APM annual conference that brings together professors of mission and missiology thought leaders from around the world.

APM is the founding organization of the American Society of Missiology (ASM), an inclusive and diverse professional association made up of members from Independent (Evangelical, Pentecostal, etc.), Conciliar, and Roman Catholic communions of the Christian church. Together, members of APM and ASM engage in a dynamic exchange of ideas, issues, and scholarship focused on the Church’s call to participate in God’s mission to the world.

“APM is not just about the study of missions, but also the study of the teaching of missions,” said Dr. Lewis. “It is a great place to interact, engage, and grow in efforts to become better professors of mission.”

This role is in addition to Lewis’ full-time service at AGTS.
