Springfield, Mo. — Convoy of Hope’s president, Hal Donaldson, will make a major announcement on the series finale of ABC’s Extreme Makeover: Home Edition Jan. 13, at 8 p.m. ET, 7 p.m. CT on the ABC television network.

The finale features tornado ravaged Joplin, Mo., where the program built seven homes in seven days last fall.

Donaldson is a 1980 alumnus of Evangel University (then-college). His wife, Doree (Waggoner ’82), is a 1982 music education graduate, and their daughter, Lindsay, is a 2011 pre-law graduate. Their daughter, Erin-Rae, is a current student at Evangel.

”It’s a privilege for Convoy of Hope to be a part of this record-breaking build in Joplin,” says Jeff Nene, senior director of public relations for Convoy of Hope. “The people of Joplin have come a long way in the months since the tornado and this will undoubtedly be another boost to them as they continue to recover.”

In response to the Joplin tornado, Convoy of Hope has distributed more than 2.6 million lbs. of supply to those affected by the storm and their volunteer teams have logged over 15,000 hours.

Convoy of Hope, founded by Donaldson in 1994, is a faith-based organization with a driving passion to feed the world through children’s feeding initiatives, community outreaches, disaster response and partner resourcing.

The Emmy award winning reality program “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition,” now in its 9th season, is produced by Endemol USA, a division of Endemol Holding. It’s executive-produced by Brady Connell and George Verschoor. David Goldberg is Chairman, Endemol North America.
