Ashley Rose to perform senior voice recital

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — Ashley Rose, music education major, will perform her senior voice recital at 7:30 p.m., Friday, Feb. 1, in the Barnett Fine Arts Recital Hall at Evangel University.

There is no charge for admission, and the public is invited to attend.

Rose’s performance will include the following pieces:

  • Tornami a Vagheggiar by George Frideric Handel
  • Rastlose Liebe by Franz Schubert
  • Wie Melodien by Johannes Brahms
  • Tout est si beau by Serge Rachmaninoff
  • Ouvre ton Coeur by Georges Bizet
  • Chanson Triste by Henri Duparc
  • Dearest Mama by Douglas Moore
  • Sous le dôme épais “The Flower Duet” by Léo Delibes
  • Lo Spazzacamino by Giuseppe Verdi
  • St. Ita’s Vision, The Crucifixion, Praises of God, Secrets of the Old, Sure on this Shining Night by Samuel Barber
  • I want Magic! by Andre Previn
  • The Joy of Spring by Chad Rose
  • My Funny Valentine by Lorenz Hart and Richard Rodgers

Sarah Miller will provide piano accompaniment for the recital.

Rose’s mother Debra Rose, brother Jason Rose (’05) and junior Katelyn Lawler will each perform a duet with her during the recital. The Joy of Spring is a classical piece written by Rose’s brother, Chad Rose (’03).

Rose is the daughter of Steven and Debra Rose of Muskogee, Okla. After graduation, she plans to pursue a master’s degree in vocal performance and serve as a worship pastor with the Assemblies of God.
