SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – The Barnett family legacy continues this month at Evangel University, as senior Alletha Barnett will perform her final voice recital in The Lawrence & Alletha Barnett Fine Arts Center, a facility named for her grandparents.
The recital will be in the main recital hall on Friday, February 19, at 7:30 p.m. The public is invited to attend, and admission is free.

Performing alongside Barnett will be her grandmother Alletha M. Barnett, as well as her parents Larry (’82) and Janelda (Frank ’83) Barnett.
Longtime family friend, Carol Wislon, of King’s Chapel, will accompany, and Evangel student Sarah Specter will also perform.
In the past three years Barnett has performed in Evangel’s Chorus, University Chorale, Concert Choir, and Women’s Chamber Ensemble. She is currently in her fifth semester of vocal study under, Susan Smith, associate professor of music.
She has performed in two opera productions, Trail by Jury and The Magic Flute.
Barnett is a native of Greenwood, Ind. She is earning a double major in biology and environment science at Evangel and will graduate on May 6.
Other members of the Barnett family legacy include her sister and brother-in-law, Rachel and Joseph Manley, who graduated from Evangel in 2005. Rachel completed a double major in biology and music, and Joe earned his degree in music education.
