SPRINGFIELD, Missouri – The Department of Behavioral & Social Sciences at Evangel University has announced its 2023 graduation awards. The awards were presented during the traditional undergraduate baccalaureate service held on Thursday, May 4 in the Robert H. Spence Chapel.
Students in the Behavioral & Social Sciences Department live out their calling in service to others, finding commonality under the banner of the “helping professions.”
Majors offered include criminal justice, government, history, psychology, social science, social science education, and social work. The military science (ROTC) program, a partnership with Missouri State University’s Bear Battalion, falls under the department. Additional master’s degrees in counseling are offered.

The Class of 2023
Evangel University and the Assemblies of God Theological Seminary celebrated 579 graduates at a joint commencement ceremony at Great Southern Bank Arena (formerly known as JQH Arena) in Springfield on May 4. Graduates earned a total of 24 doctoral, 154 master’s, 357 bachelor’s, and 44 associate’s degrees. The majority of the AAs are from Evangel’s James River College campus.
