Behavioral and Social Sciences
Evangel’s Behavioral and Social Sciences Department exists to train and equip professionals who serve Jesus through serving people in organizations and communities, either individually, in groups, or at the government level. The degree programs offer rich opportunities to students through coursework, interaction with faculty and students, and the challenge to integrate faith concepts in every activity.
Students in the Behavioral and Social Sciences Department live out their calling in service to others. The Department uses approaches and methodologies that encourage the understanding and appreciation of the multicultural heritage of humankind and integrates these approaches within a Christian worldview.
Finding commonality under the banner of the “helping professions”, students in these programs have opportunities to develop professional skills by serving as volunteers and interns in the community and conducting and presenting research projects.
Students leave Evangel prepared to work in a variety of settings in both public and private services, such as schools, clinics, government offices, hospitals, correctional facilities, museums, national parks and non-profit organizations.
In addition to traditional undergraduate programs, working adult students may pursue a degree in Behavioral Health, while graduate students have the opportunity to apply to the Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling program.
