SPRINGFIELD, Missouri – Former U.S. Attorney General John Ashcroft will participate in a night of reflection on Monday, Sept. 13 at 7 p.m. in Evangel University’s Barnett Recital Hall. Ashcroft will speak about his experience serving as U.S. attorney general during the 9/11 terror attacks. This year marks the 20th anniversary of the attacks.
The event is hosted by the Evangel University Auxiliary. The event is free and the public is invited to attend.
Ashcroft, who served as a former Missouri senator, governor, and state auditor in addition to his role as attorney general, will also share insights from his time in public service at the state and federal levels.
Ashcroft has close ties to Evangel. His late father, Dr. J. Robert Ashcroft, served as the university’s second president from 1958 to 1974, and both of Ashcroft’s brothers are graduates.
