About the scholarship

The Julia M. Duckwall professional development scholarship program facilitates the professional growth and development of early career institutional research professionals. Named in honor of the late Julia M. Duckwall, the scholarship is awarded in the spirit of her tireless passion for advancing the field of institutional research.

The Julia M. Duckwall Memorial Scholarship Fund is the first fully endowed scholarship in AIR’s history. With a base of $50,000, the scholarship funds an early career member’s attendance at a professional development event each year. The scholarship was founded shortly after Duckwall’s death in 2002 and has grown toward full endowment every year.
