SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – The Evangel University Department of Communication has announced its graduation awards for 2014.
The awards were given during the baccalaureate service on Thursday, May 1, in the Robert H. Spence Chapel auditorium.
The following awards were presented:
Carl G. Conner Journalism Award — Anna G. Lester from Broken Bow, Okla.
Outstanding Graduate in Journalism — Jessica A. Nunley from Osceola, Ind.
Outstanding Graduate in Broadcasting — Jessica C. Jurado from Vernon Hills, Ill.
Outstanding Graduates in Film
- Jonathan T. Jones from Mt. Holly Springs, Pa.
- Chloe J. Lester from Bee Branch, Ark.
Outstanding Graduates in Advertising & Public Relations
- Shannyn R. Wong from Loveland, Co.
- Irene Anu Kelly Kanthan from Singapore
Outstanding Graduate in Digital Arts — Andrew C. Grumke from Blue Springs, Mo.
Outstanding Graduate in Communication Studies — Erin-Rae Donaldson from Springfield, Mo.

This year, a total of 595 degrees were conferred at Evangel’s graduation, including 337 traditional undergraduate, 76 adult studies and 68 master’s degrees. Also included in the total were 76 bachelor’s degrees from Central Bible College and 38 associate’s degrees from James River Leadership Campus.
