Published on Jun 14, 2012 by Jennifer Hall

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – Debra Yonke, associate professor of education, has received her Ed.D. from Lindenwood University located in St. Charles, Mo.

Yonke has been a faculty member at Evangel since 2009, teaching in the education department.

“It was challenging at times and required a lot of organization,” Yonke said. She has been working toward her Ed.D. in instructional leadership degree over the course of four years.

During those four years, Yonke worked on her dissertation which was A Cost-Benefit Analysis of Retention of K-2 Students in an Urban District.

“It is a long time to devote to one piece,” Yonke said, “but you will feel such a sense of accomplishment when the research you have done is not only insightful to you, but is relevant and important to others.”

Yonke graduated in 1983 from Evangel with a bachelor’s degree in early childhood/elementary education.
