SPRINGFIELD, Missouri — Evangel University had over 150 participants in the EU’s Global Cultures & Compassion domestic and global cross-cultural trips in the 2025-26 school year. In the fall and over spring break, EU students participated in 5 trips in which 4 were missionally focused and 1 was educational. More than 75% of our trips are missionally focused. Students ministered in Dearborn, Michigan, Nairobi, Kenya, Malaga, Spain and the Dominican Republic. During these trips, Evangel partnered with Intercultural Ministries, Assemblies of God World Missions global workers, Convoy of Hope, Bible Schools, local public schools and universities.  Educationally, students were challenged to reflect more deeply about their spirituality and relationship with God at the Assumption Abbey.

“This trip really changed my perspective on faith, gratitude, and people. It pushed me out of my comfort zone,” said Anastasia Tkachenko, an Evangel student wo went on the spring trip to the Dominican Republic.

In the summer, GCC will have 12 more trips with over 85 participants. Students will be going to Alaska, Austria, England, Guatemala, Honduras, Costa Rica, South Korea, India and Senegal. The focus of the trips ranges from learning about C.S. Lewis’ life in Oxford and marine biology in Roatan Island, missional service in leading children’s camp in Austria, doing university outreach in Costa Rica, coffee ministry in England, and sports camp outreach in Guatemala and English camp outreach in South Korea.

“”Through GCC trips, our students’ worldview expands, and God challenges them to a deeper spiritual walk and life of compassionate service to “the other.” Students are touched and changed as they learn, serve and love others,” said Dr. Jane Williams, Global Cultures & Compassion director.
