SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – The Evangel Kinesiology Department has inducted a new honor society on campus, Theta Alpha, during an installation ceremony on Oct. 10, 2014. It is a chapter of Phi Epsilon Kappa Honor Society, a national professional fraternity for persons pursuing careers in physical education, health, recreation, dance, human performance, exercise science, sports medicine and sports management.
“Installing this chapter allows us to officially recognize high-achieving students, providing a professional fraternity in which they can network and serve others through various projects,” said Donovan Nelson, assistant professor of kinesiology and the faculty advisor to the fraternity on campus.
“This benefits current and future students as they may use this honor to prepare for graduate school, job applications and service requirements,” Nelson said.
