Evangel University professor receives Regius Award from Northwest University

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – Dr. Jason Streubel, associate professor of biology at Evangel University, is the recipient of the 2013 Regius Award given by his alma mater, Northwest University, in Kirkland, Wash.

This award is given annually to NU alumni recognized for their outstanding work in demonstrating the integration of faith and vocation.

Streubel was recognized for his agricultural work at Convoy of Hope, where he currently serves as director of agriculture.

Convoy of Hope is a faith-based organization with a driving passion to feed the world through children’s feeding initiatives, community outreaches, disaster response and partner resourcing.

Streubel holds a Ph.D. in soil science and a master’s degree in agriculture from Washington State University. He completed his bachelor’s degrees in church ministries and environmental studies from Northwest University.

In addition to teaching, Streubel has traveled and worked with students from Evangel and Northwest in developing agriculture-based efforts in Haiti for Convoy of Hope.
