Evangel University Welcomes New Students to Campus
SPRINGFIELD, Missouri – Evangel University will welcome new and transfer students this Friday, Aug. 15, as EU Launch kicks off the 2025–26 academic year. The multi-day orientation program offers an immersive schedule of events designed to help students and their families settle in, connect, and experience Evangel’s vibrant campus life.
This fall, Evangel is admitting approximately 890 new and transfer students, including traditional undergraduates, graduate students, and other non-traditional learners.
Move-in Day
Residence halls will be open for new student move-in from 8 a.m. to noon on Friday, with Evangel student leaders, faculty, staff, and volunteers on hand to assist. New commuter students may check in at the Cantrell Student Union from 2–3 p.m.
Event Highlights
From Friday through Tuesday, students and families will participate in interactive and informative events leading up to the first day of classes on Wednesday, Aug. 20.
- Friday, 7 p.m. – Parents are invited to a come-and-go dessert reception to connect with Evangel’s president, cabinet members, and fellow parents. At the same time, new students will meet their EU Launch leaders and join small groups to begin building community.
- Saturday, 9 a.m.–2 p.m. – Students will engage in a day of service in partnership with Convoy of Hope, contributing to local and global outreach efforts.
- Sunday, 10:30–11:30 a.m. – An all-Evangel worship service in Spence Chapel will bring together students, families, faculty, and staff.
- Monday, 6:30 p.m. – “EU Excursions” will give new students an opportunity to explore campus and enjoy recreational activities with their Launch groups.
- Tuesday, 4:30 p.m. – The annual “Summer Bash” will feature games, dinner on the quad, and opportunities to connect with other new and returning students.
- Tuesday, 9 p.m. – IgNight, Evangel’s spirited opening ceremony, will celebrate the start of the academic year with music, campus traditions, and a fireworks display.
