Evangel’s Department of Behavioral Sciences announces 2014 graduation awards

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – The Department of Behavioral Sciences at Evangel University has announced its graduation awards for 2014.

The awards were given during the baccalaureate service on Thursday, May 1, in the Robert H. Spence Chapel auditorium.

The following awards were presented:

The Holsinger Family Award for Outstanding Graduate in Behavioral Sciences — Taylor C. King from Overland Park, Kansas.

Outstanding Graduates in Criminal Justice

  • Rachel V. Benitez from San Jose, Calif.
  • Danielle A. Christy from Kansas City, Mo.

Outstanding Graduates in Psychology

  • John C. Pryor from Camdenton, Mo.
  • Joel C. Facer from Bowling Green, Ohio

Outstanding Graduate in Social Work — Allegra R. Thowless from Boise, Idaho.

Outstanding Research Graduate in Psychology — Marshana L. Coler from Mora, Minn.

This year, a total of 595 degrees were conferred at Evangel’s graduation, including 337 traditional undergraduate, 76 adult studies and 68 master’s degrees. Also included in the total were 76 bachelor’s degrees from Central Bible College and 38 associate’s degrees from James River Leadership Campus.
