Evangel University Department of Social Sciences announces 2014 graduation awards

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – The Evangel University Department of Social Sciences has announced its graduation awards for 2014.

The awards were given during the baccalaureate service on Thursday, May 1, in the Robert H. Spence Chapel auditorium.

The following awards were presented:

Outstanding Graduate in Government — Jonathan D. Fleming from North Bloomfield, Ohio

Outstanding Graduate in History — Megan E. Ahrens from Staunton, Ill.

Outstanding Graduate in International Studies — Lindsey J. Mead from Cincinnati, Ohio

Outstanding Graduate in Legal Studies — Destinee J. Farr from Louisville, Ky.

Outstanding Graduate in Social Science — Jane E. Roberts from Tustin, Calif.

Outstanding Graduate in Social Studies Education — James F. Donnelly from Linn, Mo.

The Kendrick-Karmarkovic-Holsinger Award for Outstanding Achievement in Social Science — Paul M. Bayer from Ft. Calhoun, Neb.

The Jean Martin Award for Outstanding Service to the Social Sciences Department — Anna M. Obermesik from Mt. Pleasant, Mich.

This year, a total of 595 degrees were conferred at Evangel’s graduation, including 337 traditional undergraduate, 76 adult studies and 68 master’s degrees. Also included in the total were 76 bachelor’s degrees from Central Bible College and 38 associate’s degrees from James River Leadership Campus.
