GUEST SPEAKER: Google employee Megan Washam holds Q&A

The Evangel University Business Department will welcome back Megan Washam, a 2017 EU graduate who currently works as an analyst with Google in San Francisco, Calif. She will be a guest speaker on Thursday, October 11.

Washam will be meeting with students one-on-one in addition to hosting a Q&A session, held in Zimmerman Hall, room 105 at 4:00 p.m.

Megan will share her journey of her college internships and landing a job with Google.

β€œIt should be a great discussion for students and one of her emphasis is to start early in your college career in obtaining meaningful internships,” Robert Thomas, director of talent engagement at Evangel, said.

About Washam

Washam, a native of Corinth, Texas, graduated from Evangel with a degree in Advertising and Public Relations. In 2016, she interned in political advertising at Google Elections in Washington, D.C. She helped both Democratic and Republican clients, strategize and sell advertising spots on Google search.

From there, she secured a job as Associate Product Marketing Manager at Google in San Francisco, Calif., where she works today.

During her time at Evangel, Washam was an All-American honoree for the varsity softball team. The infielder and team captain played 148 games at Evangel and started 147 of them. She also achieved scholar-athlete status for her academics.
