James Benecasa to perform senior piano recital at Evangel University

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – James Benecasa will perform his senior piano recital at 7:30 p.m., Tuesday, April 10, in the Barnett Fine Arts Recital Hall at Evangel University.

There is no cost for admission, and the public is invited to attend.

The recital will feature the following selections:

  • Chopin’s Winter Wind Etude
  • Prokofieff’s Toccata in D Minor
  • Moszkowski’s Caprice Espanol

In addition, the concert will include original works by Benecasa.

Special guests include Benjamin Whitmore, Evangel senior music industry student, who will conduct a chamber ensemble and small choir ensemble. These ensembles will perform some of Benecasa’s original music.

Also performing will be Evangel senior music education major Jonathan Mussetter in a piano duet with Benecasa. They will play an arrangement of Liszt’s Rhapsodie Hongroise No. II, transcribed by Benecasa.

Benecasa, son of Joseph and Mary Benecasa of Poughkeepsie, N.Y., will graduate with a bachelor’s degree in music industry with an emphasis in recording technology.

He will debut his album Dichotomy on April 10 on iTunes.
