Julia Gardino to present senior recital on Feb. 27 in the Barnett Recital Hall

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – Julia Gardino will perform her senior recital at Evangel University on Saturday, Feb. 27, at 7:30 p.m. in the Barnett Recital Hall.

Gardino is a native of Johnston, Iowa, and is the daughter of David and Carmen Gardino.

“I personally believe that it is a sacred duty to perform for an audience. I hope that my recital will lift people’s spirits through the wonder of song,” said Gardino, a music education major.

She will be accompanied in the recital by Dr. Linda Ligate, professor of piano. Along with Ligate, Kyrie Miles, 2013 Evangel Alumna, will accompany her on the flute, and Cody Yanez, Evangel senior, will join her in a vocal duet.

The public is invited to attend and admission is free.

The music education major at Evangel prepares students to teach music at K-12 levels in public and private schools. Teaching certification is granted by the Missouri State Department of Education. This curriculum also meets the approval of the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education.

The Department of Music at Evangel University is accredited by the National Association of Schools of Music and the Missouri Association of Departments & Schools of Music. Courses and degree plans are designed to satisfy requirements of these accrediting agencies.
