SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – Organist Vicky Claborn will perform as part of Evangel University’s June Kean Pipe Organ Endowment Series on Thursday, October 15, at 7:30 pm, in Spence Chapel.
Mrs. Claborn is a 2011 graduate of Missouri State University with a Master of Music degree in Organ Performance. She has decades of experience as a musician for military chapels in Japan and Italy, and also as an organist for churches from Washington DC to Springfield. Mrs. Claborn is currently an accompanist in the Evangel University Music Department.
The program will build on traditional hymn tunes developed through contemporary arrangements but will also include sacred works from composers such as Johann Sebastian Back and Herbert Howells.
The concert is free and open to the public.
