Katrina McCutchen to perform senior flute recital

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — Katrina McCutchen, music education major, will perform her senior flute recital at 7:30 p.m., Friday, Feb. 8, in the Barnett Fine Arts Recital Hall at Evangel University.

There is no charge for admission, and the public is invited to attend.

McCutchen’s performance will include the following pieces:

  • Ballade by Albert Perilhou
  • Canzone by Samuel Barber
  • Sonata No.2 in E flat major by Johann Sebastian Bach
  • Sonatina by Eldin Burton
  • Duo for Flute and Piano by Aaron Copland
  • Three Shanties by Malcolm Arnold

James Benecasa (2012 graduate) will provide piano accompaniment along with graduate student Robin Silva on clarinet, senior Dorothy Lason on bassoon, Wesley Gore (2012 graduate) on french horn and Dannah Hager on oboe (MSU).

McCutchen is the daughter of Charles and Carla McCutchen of Bedford, Texas. After graduation, she plans to teach band in high school as well as pursue a master’s degree in conducting.
