Published on Mar 28, 2016 by Mallory Johnson

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – Kaytee Mitchell will perform her senior recital on March 31 at 7:30 p.m. in Spence Chapel. Admission is free and the public is invited to attend.

The recital’s theme is “To Trust in a Living Dream.”

Mitchell is a worship leadership major from Owensville, Mo. She is the daughter of Darril and Ann Parker and is a student of Dr. Bonnie Jenkins, professor of music.

Following her graduation in May, Mitchell plans to continue study in songwriting at Hillsong College in Sydney, Australia.

“The worship leadership major at Evangel prepares students for a music ministry position, such as choir director, orchestra director or worship music leader,” said Jenkins. “It is also a good track for a student who intends to pursue graduate studies in music.”

Joining Mitchell on vocals will be fellow Evangel students Danielle Giarratano and Brendan Kendall.

She has also assembled a band of fellow EU students, including: Nick Daas and Josh Page on keyboards; Daniel Eschman and Austin Kershaw on electric guitars; Danielle Giarratano on acoustic guitar; John Osborn on bass; Jonathan Alvarado on drums; and Luke Thomas on violin.

“The recital is all about trusting in the dreams God has spoken to our hearts over the years, based off of the scripture of Proverbs 3:5-12,” Mitchell said. “They may be small, new or even forgotten, but this night is all about the stages of trusting God with the dream that is living within your heart.”
