SPRINGFIELD, Missouri – Evangel University’s HeartSong recently released its latest worship album, “Why We Praise,” a collection of 12 original and contemporary Christian worship songs. HeartSong is Evangel’s traveling student worship team. The album is available for download on all major streaming platforms.
This marks HeartSong’s 32nd year as a student ministry group. Dr. Bonnie Jenkins,
HeartSong founder and director, led the project.
“I’m so proud of our students and their hard work and dedication to this album,” said Jenkins. “Their sincere hearts are to worship, and our prayer is that all who hear these songs will be encouraged and know why we praise!”
The album’s title track, “Why We Praise,” is inspired by Psalm 33 and co-written by HeartSong members Aidan Kelley, Caleb Moore, and recent EU alum Tasia Saxton. The album was recorded during a live worship event this spring.
This is HeartSong’s eighth album release.
The group travels throughout the year and performs at various churches and events and participates in international ministry and outreach trips, most recently performing 10 worship services in Rome and outlying areas during the university’s spring break week this past March.
