SPRINGFIELD, MO — New Covenant Academy is thrilled to announce a formal education partnership agreement with Evangel University. This partnership is a win-win for both educational institutions who share a common mission in Christian education.

Per the agreement, Evangel agrees to offer NCA students, beginning with the class of 2019, a guaranteed minimum 50 percent tuition discount to those who enroll in a traditional undergraduate program at the Springfield campus (includes merit and other discounts).

Evangel will also offer the students access to online dual and concurrent enrollment options, including courses delivered online and on-site at NCA.

“NCA students consistently perform at a high level, and have historically been among our brightest students,” said Chris Belcher, vice president for enrollment management at Evangel. “We want to be their college of choice.”

In addition, Evangel’s College of Adult & Graduate Studies will waive the application fee and offer a 10 percent tuition discount for all NCA staff and students who enroll in an online undergraduate or master’s degree program.

In return, NCA will enthusiastically promote Evangel University programs to its constituent base and student body.

Tears & cheers

Kimberly Petree, NCA’s guidance counselor, couldn’t be more excited. “This is fantastic,” she said. “It’s not a scholarship linked to GPA or merit, which is different from most other scholarship opportunities!”

The partnership offers mutual benefits.

“Our Christian high school partnership program also expands opportunities for faculty, like Dr. Sadaka, to teach in our growing online degree programs,” said Belcher.

Dr. Mark Sadaka, Bible teacher at NCA is enthusiastic about the partnership. “This opens up course offerings that NCA can offer right here on campus through Evangel.” As an adjunct professor for Evangel, Sadaka looks forward to the opportunity, “to teach the same great students as they progress on to college.”

Petree noted that while she had been discussing a partnership with Evangel for some time, the details of the contract did not come together until a week before the 2019 graduation ceremonies.

“For NCA students who were already enrolled at Evangel for the fall of 2019, this was a windfall of an announcement, met with tears and cheers,” added Petree.
