Students Selected for 2012 Missouri All'Collegiate Band

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — Four Evangel University students were recently selected to be in the 2012 Missouri All-Collegiate Band.

The students will perform at the annual Missouri Music Educators Association Conference on Jan. 25-28, 2012. The conference will be held at the Tan-Tara Resort at Lake of the Ozarks.

The All-Collegiate Band has approximately 80 members from 25 Missouri colleges and universities.

The following students from Evangel were selected:

  • James Benecasa, percussion; senior music industry major from Springfield, Mo.
  • Joseph Brueckmann, tuba; junior music education major from Henderson, Nev.
  • Wesley Gore, horn; senior music performance major from Springfield, Mo.
  • Dorothy Lason, flute; junior music education major from Mesa, Ariz.

Ana Woods, flute player and senior music education major from Nixa, Mo., was chosen as an alternate.

“They are all fantastic players and leaders in the Department of Music,” said Dr. Michael Kolstad, chair of the music department. “It is a well deserved honor for each of them.”
