SPRINGFIELD, Missouri – Two Evangel University students have been awarded scholarships from the Missouri Broadcasters Association (MBA).
Nickolas McKinley, from Reeds Spring, majoring in Film and Broadcasting, and Samantha Williams, from Springfield, majoring in Communications and Journalism, received scholarships from the organization. The awards support students pursuing careers in broadcasting. Twenty-one applications were received, and eight were awarded.
$25,000 total were awarded in scholarships. McKinley and Williams will be recognized during the MBA Awards banquet on June 6 and get the opportunity to network with broadcasters and hiring managers from MBA member stations.
Communication Department
Evangel’s Communication Department prepares students to pursue careers in the evolving professions of storytelling, design, and media. The department’s immersive learning environment, including a live tv studio and radio station, video editing suites, and more offer hands-on training that translate to real-world work assignments. Program options include communication and journalism, digital and graphic design, film and media production, and public relations and advertising.
