SPRINGFIELD, Missouri – Evangel University’s Fine Arts & Design Gallery will feature an exhibit of highlighted works by students in EU’s Art program. The exhibit will run from Nov. 14 -Jan. 12, 2026, with an opening reception on Nov. 14 from 7-8:30 p.m.

Art on display will showcase mediums including ceramic, drawing, mosaic, painting, printmaking, and sculpture.

“This exhibition reflects the incredible range of imagination and skill our students bring to their artistic expressions, from those just entering an Art program to those who have almost completed one,” said Mitch Yung, EU assistant professor of Art. “Through the process, students are discovering how creativity can become both work and worship.”

The gallery, located in the Barnett Fine Arts Center on EU’s campus, is open Monday-Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Admission is free and the public is invited to attend. Visitors should first check in at the reception desk in EU’s Welcome Center (Riggs Administration Building).

Art at Evangel

Students pursuing art-related degrees combine classroom learning with hands-on training across a broad range of mediums in EU’s Lawrence & Alletha Barnett Fine Arts Center, which houses studio spaces, graphic design technology, and the Fine Arts & Design Gallery.

Evangel’s Art Education degree is tailored to creative art students interested in teaching at the elementary, junior high, or high school level. EU’s program meets Missouri’s state requirements for certification in Art Education, grades K-12.

Students who desire a well-rounded approach to artistic disciplines may earn a Bachelor of Arts in Art degree. The program requires 45 credits in art and is a good option for a double major. The department also offers a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree, allowing students to gain experience in a wide variety of artistic mediums, with an emphasis on studio work or graphic design.
